This moment in Science Fiction is an experiment. I wanted to make a comic with out panels and gutters, and I didn’t want it to be all small pictures with lots of empty white space hence the space setting.
The second thing I wanted to try was another way of drawing space in a black and white comic.
Quite often in comics space looks like a background with stuff happening over the top of it. I wanted to convey the feeling that space is something ships move through they are part of it, they are within it, its all around them.
