Abstract 2 Series 2

This comic and the previous comic I have experimented with the idea of covering a found image completely with the gutter of the comic and then removing the paint to create the panels of the comic. Creating comic panels almost at random.

Neither of the comics quiet came out as I expected. In both cases the paint adhered to the found image rather better than I expected. In fact the black refused to come off. Which has created a rather odd but interesting comic.

This is great David – I love the way you have created the comic and I think it is really successful (for me, at least). There are a couple of artists who worked in similar mediums for painting. One is an English artist whose name I forget (I think it is Johnson) and the other is an NZ painter Milan Mrkusich – both went through periods of using gouche and scratching off the paint to create abstract images.

    I love this.
