Comic Strip Experiment 3

These are the thoughts I wrote down at the time while working through my ideas making these comics. Essentially here is what I was thinking:

I was inspired by the random Garfield generator and the Garfield minus Garfield strips to experiment with the three panel comic strip format. I was fascinated by the empty banality of the strips and the fact that the generator makes Garfield a more interesting comic strip. So then I embarked on a mission to explore this territory.

Of course when I got there I realised that the generator works because we know the signs already so seeing them distorted or re-arranged brings something new to it. In the end I couldn’t see my experiments going anywhere interesting. They certainly looked banal and I wasn’t emotionally connected enough to persevere.
